Empowerment of Yamantaka by Simdha Getul Rinpoche in Surabaya, 2023

Rinpoche will give the empowerment of Yamantaka at 7 pm. Yamantaka, who is known as 'The Destroyer or Slayer of Yama, the Lord of Death', is a wrathful form of Manjushri. There was a tale of a powerful yogi, while in his deep practice, some poachers not only butchered a Buffalo in the same cave but also slashed his head off in order to hide their misdeed. Upon reentering his consciousness, when he found his body headless, he attached the head of the buffalo which was lying around in the cave. This unspeakable mishap trapped him into emotional turbulence of ferociousness and he not only destroyed them but vented his boundless fury on whomever he met with his psychic power. To end this massacre, Manjushri took the warthful emanation of Yamantaka to subdue Yama. The wrathful Manjushri subdued the yogi from a malevolent force into a protector of dharma. Yamantaka practice aims to overcome all kinds of obstacles, eliminate all unfavorable conditions and protect the practitioner from all negative influences, as well as untimely death. The practice of Yamantaka also has the power to bring peace and tranquility to beings whose minds are filled with delusion and anger. In particular, Jampal Shinje Thugthig or Essence of the Heart of Manjusri Yamantaka is a precious teaching that comes from Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, a 19th Century Great Master who pioneered
